Having been born and raised in the Central Valley, I feel obligated to serve the people in the local community that has molded me into the hard working and respectful professional that I am today. The small town of Hilmar has been my home my entire life where I was raised by my parents who immigrated from the Azores islands. Being of Portuguese descent has empowered me to gain the multilingual skills to communicate in both the Portuguese and Spanish language, further enabling me to serve more people with their home loan needs. I have a strong understanding of rates and financial markets thanks to earning a Bachelors degree in Business Finance from California State University, Stanislaus.

Helping people to achieve something positive has always been one of my career goals. With my multilingual skills, educational background, and values, I am motivated to help my clients achieve the goal of home ownership or refinancing their current mortgage while providing the best experience possible. I have been in the mortgage industry since 2008 and am honored to be part of a team that embodies the values of respect and transparency. I believe in leading a team that empowers and educates others while prioritizing the needs of our clients through developing the best individualized loan situation. I graduated from California State University Stanislaus with a bachelor's degree in 2001. I have lived in the Turlock community for most of my life and have a husband and two wonderful children that I am dearly proud of. I am thankful for the support of my family and the strength I gain from their encouragement. Our branch has a team of educated and skilled professionals that always put the customer first. Denise Maciel | Sales Manager

I was born and raised in California’s Central Valley, where my family instilled in me the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance—principles that have guided me throughout both my educational and professional journey. 

In 2007, I earned my Nursing Degree from Merced College and went on to serve in a local hospital for more than a decade. After over ten years in healthcare, I chose to pause my nursing career to focus on starting a family with my husband. As our family grew, I transitioned into the mortgage industry, where I found the flexibility to balance my professional ambitions with family life. 

Joining the NEXA team has been a deeply rewarding experience. It has allowed me to connect with clients on a personal level and assist them in achieving their financial goals—something I take great pride in. 

I am a devoted wife and proud mother of three wonderful children. In my free time, I enjoy camping, beach trips, sports, and traveling—especially to Europe. Music has always been a passion of mine, offering both inspiration and an outlet for creativity. My family also takes great pride in our agricultural roots, particularly in managing our almond orchards.
